Dr. Hari S. Lamba - President and CEO

Picture
Dr. Lamba has a B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering and then a Ph.D. in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. For most of his career he has worked in industry in the Chicago area as a materials and mechanical engineer, with the last thirty years of that career as a designer and tester of railway locomotives. For the last five years of that, he was the manager of advanced technology where he advised management on many technologies of all types, including the testing and application of advanced battery systems to locomotives. In parallel, he operated a renewable energy company dealing with solar PV, solar thermal (hot water heating), vertical axis wind turbines, ground source heat pumps and self-designed and built motion activated solar lights. After retiring from active employment in 2016, he has been championing climate solutions, including planting coastal ecosystems and helping farmers with regenerative agriculture, and the use of hydrogen fuel as means of storing solar energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions and local pollution.

Walter Pyle - Consultant

Picture
Walter or Walt Pyle has a lifetime of experience with hydrogen. His dad, Larry Pyle, and coworkers installed a steam-iron hydrogen plant in Berkeley California to hydrogenate vegetable oils. Larry brought Walt into the plant on weekends, while the hydrogen plant was under construction and then operating, in the early 1950's. Later, the USSR's launch of Sputnik filled the USA's high schools and colleges with all the best scientific equipment to catch up in the space race, and there was an electrolysis of water demonstrator that became available. Following engineering school, Walt worked in the petrochemical R&D field for thirty years and had an office near the largest hydrogen production plant in the world in Richmond California. Since 1990's Walt and his associates at H-Ion Solar have pioneered small home-scale hydrogen applications for cooking, heating, welding/cutting, electricity generation and storage. He has also been conducting R&D in producing green Ammonia using solar energy.
